Can Plastic Bottles Really Raise Your Blood Pressure? What You Need To Know About The Risks | Health Live
Drinking from plastic bottles may be harming your health more than you think. A recent study published in Microplastics revealed that consuming water from plastic bottles can raise blood pressure due to microplastics entering the bloodstream. Microplastics, tiny particles of plastic found in most food and water, can infiltrate the bloodstream and tissues. Research by Danube Private University in Austria found that participants who switched from plastic and glass bottles to tap water saw a significant decrease in blood pressure over two weeks. This suggests that reducing plastic consumption could lower blood pressure by decreasing plastic particles in the blood. Additionally, boiling and filtering tap water can reduce microplastics by nearly 90%, making it a safer choice for hydration.
