Polls a chance to rid Goa of political instability, PM Modi tells voters
Appealing to the Goa voters to ensure a “comfortable majority” for the ruling BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the February 4 assembly elections will give them a chance to rid the coastal state of political instability.
“Goa is progressing well, but there has been a disease attached to it — this disease is political instability,” he said at an election rally here.
“The ensuing elections are a chance to get rid of it,” he told his audience.
Modi said he will make Goa the “most comfortable state”, which otherwise has been a “victim of political instability”. This instability in turn has created many problems for the state, he added.
“In the past 10 years, Goa has seen over a dozen Chief Ministers and it has created problem for the state,” he said, while appealing to the people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The elections to the 40-member assembly will be held on February 4 and counting taken up on March 11.
