For 5th day, Patna reels under flood-like situation, residents migrate| Mathrubhumi

As death toll in the devastating Bihar floods has reached to 42 leaving over 17 lakh people affected across different districts in the state, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an orange alert in Patna, Vaishali, Begusarai and Khagaria districts of Bihar for October 3 and 4. Orange warning by weather departments stands for 'Alert' and authorities are expected to 'Be prepared'. The forecast during an Orange warning is of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, "The change in climate has led to drought, sudden heavy rainfall and the present condition in Bihar. This year in July there were flash floods in 12-13 districts. Later,water level in river Ganga rose. Now,sudden heavy rainfall has flooded many areas in Patna."
