At the ABP Network's Southern Rising Summit, filmmaker Chidambaram Poduval shared the journey behind his blockbuster Malayalam film Manjummel Boys. The survival drama, made on a Rs 20 crore budget, became the first Malayalam film to gross over Rs 200 crore in 2024, placing it among India's top-grossing films. Poduval discussed Malayalam cinema’s evolution, noting how a strong focus on storytelling has driven its success. “We focus on the story, and everything else follows,” he said, adding that even big stars choose roles for the power of the narrative. Chidambaram Poduval is now gearing up for his Hindi directorial debut with Phantom Studios.
