Explained: Kangana Ranaut's Thalaivi vs. multiplex chains

Ahead of the release of her forthcoming film "Thalaivii", actress Kangana Ranaut has urged the Maharashtra government to allow theatres to open up and "save" the film industry from "dying". Actress Kangana Ranaut says 'Thalaivii' is the best film of her career so far and is confident that it will bring audiences back to the theatres. Also, she has praised multiplex chains for screening the Telugu and Tamil version of her upcoming film 'Thalaivii'. She calls it a ray of hope.

She wrote: "PVR's decision to screen the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film is a ray of hope for Team Thalaivii as well as all those cinemagoers who are waiting to rush back to their favourite multiplex chain for a cinematic experience.
