Bhupesh Baghel is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. He was the President of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee and has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Patan five times. He was a Cabinet Minister in the Digvijaya Singh government in undivided Madhya Pradesh at the end of the 1990s. Baghel was born on August 23, 1961, in the Durg district of Madhya Pradesh to Nand Kumar Baghel and Bindeshwari Baghel. His family primarily practices agriculture. He is married to Mukteshwari Baghel and has one son and three daughters. Baghel began his political career with the Indian Youth Congress and later became a member of the All India Congress Committee. He has held various positions within the state and national Congress committees before becoming the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh in 2018.
