Amritsar Train Accident: Yogi Adityanath tweets, "Extremely saddened over the incident"
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed extreme grief over the train accident in Amritsar.
In a major mishap, around 50 people are feared to be dead on Friday evening after a tragic train accident took place in Choura Bazar near Amritsar. As per initial reports, the speeding train ran over people watching the burning of Ravana effigy on the occasion of the Dussehra celebrations. These people were standing alongside the railway tracks and could not hear the sound of the train approaching due to the crackers' noise. The train is said to be 74943 DMU and the accident happened near Gate 27 C, which was closed.
