On Sunday night, IIT graduate Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi attacked security guards at the Gorakhnath shrine in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The accused is seen chasing security workers with a sickle in a video of the incident. Abbasi was detained and placed on judicial remand for two weeks after attempting to surge into the shrine while shouting "Allahu Akbar." The incident was labelled a "act of terror" by authorities, who assigned a special team of the UP STF to investigate the incident with assistance from the ATS.
