Amid the opposition’s outcry over the Cabinet’s approval to National Population Register (NPR), Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday cleared the air around it and stated that there is no link between the National Register of Citizens and the National Population Register.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday gave its approval for updation of the National Population Register (NPR) with no requirement by people to submit any document or biometrics to prove their identity, and conducting of census of India 2021.
