Trending News: Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to his Instagram to share pictures of his company's new office in London. Google was paying rent for this office till now, but now this office has become Google's asset. This is not an ordinary office building in the Central St. Giles of London. It has all kinds of facilities. The office building has restaurants, cafes, and residential houses. This office is spread over 408,000 square ft.
CEO Sundar Pichai informed that 10,000 employees can work in this office. Google's London office currently has 7,000 employees. Pichai shared details of the new office and said that he is very excited about it. "We shifted in it in 2011. Central St. Giles in central London has vibrant colors and is located near Oxford Road. It will be a flexible workplace in the future," he said. The office is painted yellow, orange, red, and green from the outside.
Google paid Rs 7500 crore to buy office.
After buying a lavish office, Google has indicated that its employees who are still working from home so far due to the Covid-19 pandemic may be called back soon. It may be noted that Google bought this office for Rs 7500 crore. In addition to this office, Google also has offices in London and Manchester. A new office of Google is also being built near King Cross railway station in London which is expected to get completed by the end of this year.
Google's Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat said regarding the deal, "We have been very honored to have been working from London for the last 20 years and buying Central St. Giles Development reflects our commitment to the country's progress and success. Last year, Google bought the Manhattan-based St. John's Terminal in September as part of expanding its business in New York."
