Choosing to end their 18-year-long marriage, actor Dhanush and director Aishwaryaa Dhanush, who also happens to be the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, have announced that they have decided to part ways.
Late on Monday night, both the actor and the director put out a letter, which looked similar for the most part, on their respective social media handles.
The decision of the couple, who have two sons, Yatra and Linga, comes as a bolt from the blue to the film industry and also left their fans in shock & heartbroken.
Many social media users are sharing pictures of the former couple from the archives which indicate happier times, calling the separation 'unexpected & shocking'.
Meanwhile a throwback video of Dhanush going gaga over Aishwaryaa is going viral on the internet. In the video, Dhanush can be seen singing for Aishwaryaa at a party. The former couple is surrounded by friends and Dhanush dedicates a song to his wife. He then walks towards Aishwarya and wraps her in his arms. All this while, Aishwaryaa is seen blushing.
Sharing the video, a Twitter user commented, “It’s a Heartbreaking 💔 News definitely, hope everything will get to normal. More strength to both of you🧿Om Namashivaya🙏🏻.” Other fans had shared their disbelief over this news as well. The video is being heavily reshared on social media as fans reminisce their happier times together.
On the work front, Dhanush was last seen in Anand L Rai’s ‘Atrangi Re’ alongside Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. He is all set to make his debut in Telugu debut with the bilingual film ‘Sir’. Aishwarya, who is a director and playback singer, made her directorial debut with the film ‘3’ that featured Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in the lead.
