'Bright As Hell': Neighbours Complain As Giant X Logo Now Illuminates Atop Twitter HQ
Because of the sign's excessive brightness, some neighbours have objected.
Elon Musk put a massive and highly lighted 'X' emblem at the company headquarters in San Francisco after redesigning Twitter to X. However, the decision has sparked outrage among residents, who have complained about the invasive lights. Because of the sign's excessive brightness, some neighbours have objected.
The move came after Musk, the mysterious billionaire who bought the business in October for $44 billion, said in a statement that the newly renamed company will remain in San Francisco despite the city's recent "doom spiral, with one company after another left or leaving."

Many people on Twitter were outraged when they saw videos of the enormous 'X' lighting and strobing. One neighbor posted a video of the brilliant light with the caption, ''Imagine no more. This is my life right now.'' Another claimed: "X logo light at the old Twitter headquarters is bright as hell."

Patricia Wallinga, who lives directly across the street from the headquarters, told CBS News that it was "a danger" and "a clown show."
''I thought it was lightning, and I was very confused. I went to my window, I looked around, I didn't see anything. I thought it was maybe a police siren,'' she said.
Meanwhile, San Francisco has begun an inquiry into the massive logo. According to city officials, if a corporation wants to modify a sign or replace a brand, they must first obtain approval ''for design and safety concerns.''
"Any replacement letters or symbols would require a permit to ensure consistency with the historic nature of the building and to make sure additions are safely attached to the sign," spokesperson for the Department of Building Inspection stated.
