Heavy Rains Lash Hyderabad: After a spell of scorching heat, heavy rains lash Hyderabad on Wednesday morning

New Delhi: After a spell of scorching heat, heavy rains lash Hyderabad on Wednesday morning. The heavy downpour left many areas waterlogged in and around Hyderabad.

According to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) data, the city witnessed an unprecedented rainfall of 72.3 mm in an hour leading to inundation and waterlogging in several parts of the city.

After Wednesday's early morning rains, Hyderabad Mayor Vijayalaxmi Gadwal suggested people dial the GHMC control room on 040-21111111, 040-29555500 for any rain-related issues and assistance. The city mayor assured that the water logging has been cleared in several parts.

According to the Telangana State Developing Planning Society (TSDPS), besides, Hyderabad and Siddipet, Jagtial, Mancheryal and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts received moderate rainfall, reported Indian Express. Meanwhile, about 30 circles received moderate rainfall till 6 AM on Wednesday.

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) in Hyderabad had predicted light to moderate rains. RMC also said that thundershowers are likely to occur in other districts also in Telangana.
