Caught On Camera: BRS MLA Durgam Chinnaiah Assaults Toll Plaza Staff In Telangana's Mancherial

Mandamarri Circle Inspector said that they have not received any complaint and they are still inquiring about the matter

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA from Telangana's Bellampalli, Durgam Chinnaiah, is seen assaulting a toll plaza staff in a video captured by a CCTV at Mandamarri toll plaza in Mancherial district.

In the viral video, the staff can be seen attempting to control toll plaza employee's behaviour after MLA is seen slapping the person. However, Mandamarri police said that no complaint has been registered yet. 

"We have seen the video on social media. We have not received any complaints. We are enquiring into the matter," said Mandamarri Circle Inspector, as quoted by news agency ANI.

The CCTV video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

The legislator got into an altercation with the toll plaza staff for asking him to pay toll despite highway work is not completed and the toll booth hasn't been opened, said a Telangana Today report.

Earlier on December 30, 2022, the Communist Party of India cadre staged a protest at the toll plaza for collecting toll from motorists even though the national highway is under construction. The NHAI notified Mandamarri toll booth staff to collect toll fees from December 30, 2022.

Earlier in September 2022, an unsavory comment triggered a brawl between Telangana Sarpanch's secretary and toll plaza staff in Rangareddy district. Later the toll plaza on the national highway was vandalised by the locals.
