Not Invited For Inauguration Of New Secretariat, Claims Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan

The Raj Bhavan on Tuesday clarified that Governor Tamilisai did not attend the inauguration of the new Secretariat as she did not receive any invitation from the State government.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Wednesday that she was not invited to the recent inauguration of the new secretariat building.

Speaking at the C20 Samajshala event in Hyderabad, she termed it unfortunate that Raj Bhavan and Pragati Bhavan, the camp office and official residence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, were not coming together.

She said, "Even warring nations are breaking barriers, but it is very unfortunate that the Raj Bhavan and Pragathi Bhavan cannot do so for the sake of the state."

Speaking about not receiving an invitation to attend the inauguration of the new state secretariat complex, Tamilisai said, "There is a very big secretariat building opened, but there is no invitation for the first citizen. Whether it is the Chief Minister, the Governor, or the Council of Ministers. Nobody is for self. They are for the state and for the country."

The Raj Bhavan on Tuesday clarified that Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan did not attend the inauguration of the new Secretariat as she did not receive any invitation from the State government.

“Raj Bhavan vehemently denies the baseless and false allegation that an invitation has been extended to the Governor for the inauguration of the new Secretariat building by the State government and that, in spite of the extension of the invitation the Governor didn’t attend the programme,” Raj Bhavan said in a statement.

Meanwhile, on Monday, State Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy criticised Governor Tamilisai for not attending the inauguration of the new Secretariat Complex. He said that the Governor skipped the ceremony as she was unable to digest the developments taking place in the state.

The new Telangana Secretariat complex was inaugurated on April 30. CM KCR inaugurated the new Secretariat complex, which is 265 feet tall and spans across an area of 10,51,676 square feet over 28 acres of land in Hyderabad.

The BRS Party and the Telangana Governor are having a cold war over several issues including the clearing of a few bills by the Governor’s office. The state government approached the Supreme Court in this regard recently.
