IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana For Next Five Days

Some districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Hyderabad, will receive moderate rains on Tuesday under the influence of the southwest monsoon

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Hyderabad for the next five days under the influence of the southwest monsoon.

The officials from the weather department said there is a possibility of low pressure forming in the Bay of Bengal over North Odisha and its adjoining areas. Winds are blowing from the west direction in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam in the lower tropopause. As per IMD's Monday update, coastal Andhra Pradesh was estimated to receive moderate rainfall on Monday, while Rayalaseema districts were supposed to receive light showers.

Many districts in Telangana had been forecasted to receive moderate rains. The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for Telugu states in the wake of a thunderstorm warning.

The Regional Meteorological Department (Amaravati) predicted that light to moderate rains would likely occur in North Coastal Andhra and Yanam on Tuesday. There will be heavy rains in some parts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. 

Moderate rains will occur in South coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts on Tuesday, according to the meteorological department prediction. Some parts of Guntur, Prakasam and Potti Sriramulu Nellore districts will receive heavy rains on Tuesday.

The IMD's Hyderabad office said that in Telangana state, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Jagityala, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban, Janagama, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy districts are expected to receive heavy rains on Tuesday.
