Hyderabad: Burglars Open Fire At Jewellery Store Injuring Two, Flee With Gold And Cash
Based on a tip-off by locals, police rushed to the store and admitted the injured to a nearby hospital. They also registered a case and formed special teams to nab the accused.
New Delhi: Two people were injured after four unidentified men opened fire and robbed a jewellery shop in Hyderabad on Thursday, officials said. The incident took place around 9.30 pm at Snehapuri colony in Nagole.
On Thursday night, four men barged into Mahadev Jewellers when the shop owners were attending to the customers. One of them suddenly opened fire with a country-made revolver. After the firing, the intruders sent three customers out of the shop, downed the shutters, and looted the jewellery. They also snatched a cash bag from the shop owner.
Shop owner Kalyan Chowdhary (42) and supplier Sukhram (23) were injured in the firing.

According to the officials, CCTV footage showed the assailants, who were in their mid-30s fled the scene on two bikes parked in a nearby street. Footage from nearby lanes and shops are also being investigated, and all police stations have been alerted, they said.
"The assailants appeared to have conducted a recce of the jewellery store and tracked the movements of Sukhdev, who delivered gold jewellery from Ganpati Jewellers in Secunderabad to about seven or eight shops every Thursday," Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat stated as quoted by The Indian Express.
Bhagwat said that only the suitcase containing gold jewellery brought by Sukhdev was missing, and the overall loss of the gold is being calculated. The injured were operated on and the bullet was removed last night. Their condition is stable, the commissioner added.
