Hyderabad To Get Its First Cycle Track With Solar Roof By 2023
The cycling track would cover 14.5 km between Narsingi and Kollur and 8.5 km between Nanakramguda and the Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA).
Hyderabad will soon have a 23-km long cycle track with a solar roof in the area of the Outer Ring Road. Telangana Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for the cycle track along the Outer Ring Road service road on Tuesday.
Taking to social media, KTR said, The cycle track will be delivered by the summer of the next year. The proposed 23 km long, 4.5 m wide cycling track would link Narsingi and Kollur with Nanakramguda and the TSPA circle. The solar rooftop will produce 16 MW of electricity.

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) officials said that the solar roof cycle track would become a trendsetter for Hyderabad. The cycle track is being developed as a pilot project in Kokapet. Once approved by the state government, the entire 23-km stretch will be constructed," said an HMDA official.

The cycling track would cover 14.5 km between Narsingi and Kollur and 8.5 km between Nanakramguda and the Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA). The cycling track will run between the main highway and the city-side service road on the ORR. An improved version of the South Korean concept with superior aesthetics, the proposed cycle track in Hyderabad offers more amenities, including lighting, rain protection, parking, and other amenities like food stalls.
The pilot project taken up near Hyderabad's IT corridor is expected to benefit a large number of bicycle users who ride cycles to their offices.
