BRS Leaders File Complaints Against Telangana Congress Chief Over Remarks On Pragati Bhavan

Revanth Reddy had said, "Even if Maoists blow up the official residence of the chief minister with explosives, it would be of little consequence as it would be of no use to the people."

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders on Wednesday filed police complaints against Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy over his remark concerning Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The BRS leaders also called for protests.

During his ongoing "Hath Se Haath Jodo" padayatra in Mulugu district, Revanth Reddy had said, "Even if Maoists blow up the official residence of the chief minister with explosives, it would be of little consequence as it would be of no use to the people."

Revanth Reddy claimed that CM KCR was oblivious to the plight of the people because he was surrounded by the walls of the Pragati Bhavan. He went on to add that even if Maoists blew up Pragati Bhavan, it would make no difference as it was of no use to the people.

"What use is a structure built with hundreds of crores when the chief minister is insensible to the sufferings of the people as long as he is inside it? "If it's not useful to the public," he inquired.

The complaints were filed at Mulugu and Narasmpet police stations. The BRS leaders expressed doubts that there could be a plot behind Revanth Reddy's comments. The complainants claimed that as part of a plot to endanger the life of Chief Minister, the Congress leader instructed Maoists to blow up Pragati Bhavan.

Meanwhile, the BRS has also called for protests against Revanth Reddy. According to an IANS report, BRS MLA P. Sudershan Reddy said large-scale protests would be held in the Narasmpet constituency on Wednesday. He said Revanth Reddy's effigies would be burned, and the protesters would also take out his mock funeral processions.

The BRS leader condemned Reddy, who called for the bombing of Pragati Bhavan. "Congress party, which banned Maoists, should respond to the statement of its own leader calling upon Maoists to blow up the official residence of the chief minister," he said.
The MLA demanded that a case be booked under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against Revanth Reddy and that he be sent to jail.
