'Farmers Of Telangana In Dire Straits': BJP MP Slams CM KCR Over 'Ab Ki Baar Kisan Sarkar' Slogan
BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri said the Telangana administration failed to prepare for unseasonal rains and declare measures to protect farmers' interests in the case of crop damage.
BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri hit out at Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrashekar Rao for using the slogan "Ab Ki Baar Kisan Sarkar", saying he shouldn't be using it when the state's farmers are in "dire straits", PTI reported.
"Today, KCR is saying ‘Ab ki baar Kisan Sarkar’, when the farmers of Telangana are in dire straits," Arvind said.
"Due to unseasonal rains in Telangana, thousands and lakhs of acres of crops have been damaged. The state government hasn't provided relief for the affected farmers as yet. KCR announced Rs 10,000 for each farmer as relief, but the amount hasn’t been released yet. This is not the first time he has done this. In 2022, lakhs of acres of farmland were damaged because of excessive rainfall, but not even a penny was announced as compensation," the BJP MP said, as quoted by PTI.

He claimed that the Telangana administration failed to prepare for unseasonal rains and declare measures to protect farmers' interests in the case of crop damage despite Met Department alerts.
"KCR is busy extending his party’s footprint in Maharashtra," he said.
Earlier, speaking at the public rally in Maharashtra at Aurangabad, KCR asked the people of the state to ensure a "farmers' government" and called for emulating the 'Telangana model' of governance.
KCR asked the farmers to vote for BRS in zilla parishads in the upcoming local body elections while giving the slogan of "Ab ki baar kisan sarkar".
Exhorting farmers to "rise and roar like the lions they were", KCR said if BRS was elected, welfare schemes based on the "Telangana model" and development programmes would be implemented in Maharashtra.
