Twitter Data Leak: Account Details Of 200 Million Users Breached, Including Sundar Pichai, Donald Trump Jr., More

The latest data hack falls in line with the 400 million accounts that were breached in December 2022.

Twitter appears to have been breached yet again. In the latest instance, a hacker calling himself StayMad has reportedly leaked the personal data of over 200 million users, including high profile accounts such as Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Donald Trump Jr., SpaceX, CBS Media, NBA, WHO, and more.

However, further investigation suggests that the latest data hack could be the same as the one seen in December 2022, where a hacker calling himself Ryushi leaked the data of 400 million accounts on the dark Web. The latest instance of 200 million accounts are the remnants of the previous hack, after the elimination of duplicate data.

Israeli cyber intelligence firm Hudson Rock called this one of the "most significant leaks ever," and that the database has over 235 million accounts in total.

The hacker last month claimed to have stolen the data of nearly 400 million Twitter users and put it up for sale. According to Hudson Rock, the database contains devastating amounts of information, including e-mails and phone numbers of high-profile users. Hudson Rock shared several screenshots of the post on Twitter.

"I am selling data of +400 million unique Twitter users that was scrapped via a vulnerability, this data is completely private," the hacker wrote in his post.

The hacker claimed he had also offered a deal to Twitter, according to the report.

"Twitter or Elon Musk, if you are reading this post, you are already at risk of GDPR fines for the data leak of over 54 million users. Now fines for data leak of 400 million users," said the hacker.
