New Delhi: Micro-blogging site Twitter went down on Friday after suffering an outage that led to several users being unable to use Twitter. According to outage detection site Downdetector, Twitter encountered a global outage, but the glitch was resolved shortly when Twitter services resumed, and many users on Twitter also posted about services being fixed.
The Twitter outage increased from 4,480 at around 4.40am to 37,419 at 6.55am, as per DownDetector. However, some reports suggest that several Twitter users were unable to access Twitter late on Thursday evening too. According to the official Twitter Support page, the Twitter outage was acknowledged and it also mentioned that the glitch was due to a technical issue. “Twitter may not have been working as expected for some of you over the past few hours,” the company said in a statement.
“We've fixed a technical bug that was affecting how Tweets get routed to our backend systems –– things should be back to normal now. Sorry for the interruption!” the company added.
