As reported by news agency Reuters, Fischer’s music-enhancing face mask has two plastic cups shaped like life-sized hands made out of transparent plastic that cup around the ears. They are attached to the mask’s strings and designed to fit around the wearer’s ears. It allows the person going for the concert to enjoy improved acoustics even in the age of Coronavirus pandemic. The report quoted Fischer – the chief of the Budapest Festival Orchestra saying, "I got to this idea that it should look like a hand because when we put our hands here (palms around areas), we always understand the other person easier, we hear the consonants, and the music sounds much more beautiful." Priced at $27, the acoustic mask if ordered through the orchestra’s website, comes in glittery black and white versions. The impressive invention has come just a few days after tech giant Apple also announced a its indigenously developed transparent face mask for its employees. Apple's Transparent Clear Mask is the first FDA-cleared surgical mask that is visible through. It shows the full face of the wearer including the mouth, which usually remains covered behind the other daily-wear face masks. The Apple clear mask has been designed to additionally help those with hearing or vision disabilities to be able to clearly see and better hear the other person in an effort to understand them better.
