OnePlus Open Launch To Be Delayed. Here's Why

According to leakster Max Jambor, the launch of the OnePlus Open will be delayed due to a "good reason".

OnePlus' maiden foldable smartphone, the purported OnePlus Open has hit a delay in launch, a famed tipster has said. According to leakster Max Jambor, the launch of the OnePlus Open will be delayed due to a "good reason". OnePlus had chosen China's display-making giant Beijing Oriental Electronics or BOE for supplying panels for OnePlus Open, but now, the handset maker is replacing BOE with Samsung-made displays. This means we can expect OnePlus Open's screen to be top-notch.

"Open Launch got pushed back a bit, but no worries the delay is actually good in a way. Open was supposed to have a BOE screen but turns out it was 👎🏼 - new panels are from Samsung ✅ Stay tuned for an exciting device! More to follow 🔜," Jambor tweeted.

This information should be taken with a pinch of salt as there has been no official confirmation from OnePlus on the foldable's launch timeline.

We all know that the competition in the foldable space is heating up and OnePlus is also gearing up to foray into it. The space was dominated by Samsung which has just launched its fifth-gen foldable line of smartphones.

OnePlus gave a peak into its first foldable which was hinted at during the OnePlus 11 launch event earlier this year. The handset maker in a tweet posted: "We OPEN when others FOLD" which is a reference to the company's upcoming foldable smartphone. There is no official confirmation on the device's name but it would be purportedly called OnePlus Open. It is being said that the foldable device could be similar to the Oppo Find N2. It is to be noted that OnePlus and Oppo are both part of Chinese tech behemoth BBK Electronics. OnePlus, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, had confirmed that its first foldable phone would be launched in the second half of the year.
