OnePlus Nord Watch India Launch Soon, Company Confirms: Expected Specs, Price And More

Handset maker OnePlus, under its budget Nord lineup, is set to launch a new smartwatch in India, the company announced on Monday. OnePlus currently sells two wearable devices in India -- the OnePlus Band and the OnePlus Watch and now, the company is gearing to expand into the growing wearables segment in the country.

The Nord Watch will bolster OnePlus Nord’s hold within the wearables segment and aims to make the signature OnePlus technology accessible to a wider set of audience, according to OnePlus.

Prior to launching the OnePlus Nord Watch, the budgets Nord series also entered into the entry-level hearable segment with the launch of OnePlus Nord Buds, Nord Buds CE and Nord wired earphones. 

Going by the previous leaks and rumours, the OnePlus Nord smartwatch would be priced below Rs 5,000 as it is a budget smartwatch. The OnePlus Nord Watch would be the first wearable under the Nord series. Going by the teaser from OnePlus, the Nord Watch would sport a rectangular dial and would also feature a button on the right side, similar to what we have seen in competing smartwatches from the likes of Dizo, Noise and so on.

According to the teaser posted by OnePlus, the OnePlus Nord Watch can be seen in a black-coloured option - the OnePlus Nord Watch is expected to be launched in at least three colour options.

Earlier in August, a leak suggested that the OnePlus Nord series was set to expand in India and that OnePlus was working to launch OnePlus Nord Watch, OnePlus Nord Band, Nord branded smart measuring scale, OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone and new Nord Buds in the country. In June, a leak gave us the first hint about OnePlus' plans to launch a new smartwatch under the Nord brand. According to a leakster, the purported OnePlus Nord smartwatch was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website with model number OPBBE221. 

As per the leak, a OnePlus Nord smartwatch appeared on BIS certification website with model number OPBBE221. However, the certification does not reveal further details about the device.
