OnePlus Fold's Price Leaked. May Be Cheaper Than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

OnePlus' first foldable smartphone in the market, the OnePlus Open, might cost less than Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, which launched recently in India.

OnePlus Open, the first foldable from OnePlus is likely to cost less than the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 which costs upwards of Rs 1,50,000 in India. OnePlus' first foldable smartphone in the market, the OnePlus Open, might cost less than Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, which launched recently in India. According to known tipster Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus Open could be priced between Rs 1,10,000-Rs 1,20,000 that makes it cheaper than the new Galaxy Z Fold 5, which costs Rs 1,54,999.

Wen all know that the OnePlus Open would look similar to the Oppo Find N2. Famed tipster Max Jambor recently leaked that OnePlus Open would feature an aspect ratio with parent company Oppo's latest foldable. The Oppo Find N2 foldable's availability is only limited to China. Competition in the foldable space is heating up and OnePlus is also gearing up to foray into it. The space was dominated by Samsung which has just launched its fifth-gen foldable line of smartphones.

OnePlus' maiden foldable smartphone has been hit by a delay in launch, Jambor revealed in another leak. He said that the launch of the OnePlus Open will be delayed due to a "good reason". OnePlus had chosen China's display-making giant Beijing Oriental Electronics or BOE for supplying panels for OnePlus Open, but now, the handset maker is replacing BOE with Samsung-made displays. This means we can expect OnePlus Open's screen to be top-notch and take on the Galaxy line of foldables.

"Open Launch got pushed back a bit, but no worries the delay is actually good in a way. Open was supposed to have a BOE screen but turns out it was 👎🏼 - new panels are from Samsung ✅ Stay tuned for an exciting device! More to follow 🔜," Jambor tweeted.

This information should be taken with a pinch of salt as there has been no official confirmation from OnePlus on the foldable's launch timeline.

OnePlus gave a peak into its first foldable which was hinted at during the OnePlus 11 launch event earlier this year. The handset maker in a tweet posted: "We OPEN when others FOLD" which is a reference to the company's upcoming foldable smartphone. It is being said that the foldable device could be similar to the Oppo Find N2. It is to be noted that OnePlus and Oppo are both part of Chinese tech behemoth BBK Electronics.

OnePlus, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, had confirmed that its first foldable phone would be launched in the second half of the year.
