OnePlus 9 Series & Watch Launched; Check Features, India Prices & More | 10 Points

In the flagship OnePlus 9 series, the 9R device is an India-specific smartphone. OnePlus Watch has also been unveiled among the lastest offerings.

New Delhi: The much-awaited OnePlus 9 series has been launched through a virtual event on Tuesday where the latest launches include the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 9 Pro and the new OnePlus Watch.

In the flagship 9 series, the 9R device is an India-specific smartphone besides the two models launched worldwide. The company this time around has made a lot of buzz around its new state-of-the-art camera system in partnership with legendary professional camera manufacturer Hasselblad.

"Co-developed with Hasselblad, the new Hasselblad Camera for Mobile will give users the ability to capture their own iconic moments with more accurate colors and premium image quality," said Pete Lau, Founder, CEO, and Chief Product Officer of OnePlus.

10 Things To Know About OnePlus 9 Series & OnePlus Watch:

  1. OnePlus 9 offers the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, Fluid Display 2.0 with a DisplayMate A+ rating, and fast-charging with Warp Charge 65T and Warp Charge 50 Wireless.
  2. The OnePlus 9 Pro's 48MP main camera features a custom-designed IMX789 sensor, co-engineered with Sony, to prove a large 1/1.4-inch sensor. 
  3. IMX789 sensor also gives the camera faster focus speeds, four-times more color information for greater color accuracy, cleaner daytime and night shots, and reduced motion blur in videos.
  4. The OnePlus 9 Pro's main camera features 16-times the pixel count of standard 1080p for high-quality videos, as claimed by OnePlus. It can shoot at 4K 120fps, with better video shooting capability and editing.

  5. With India-Specific OnePlus 9R, Indian users get Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and the smartphone will run on OxygenOS based on Android 11. The phone packs a battery capacity of 4,500 mAh along with Warp Charge 65. The main camera is a 48 MP lens with a Sony IMX586 sensor, followed by a 16 MP Ultra Wide Angle lens, 5 MP Macro camera and Monochrome sensor of 2 MP and 16 MP.

  6. OnePlus 9 is a "Flagship for flat screen lovers" as stated by the company. While users get a curved display in 9 Pro, the OnePlus 9 features a flat-screen.

  7. Colours: OnePlus 9 Pro comes in 3 "Nature-Inspired" colors: Stellar Black, Morning Mist and Pine Green. OnePlus 9 has been launched in 3 Colour variants: Winter Mist, Arctic Sky and Astral Black. In OnePlus R, users can choose between 2 colour options: Carbon Black and Lake Blue.

  8. Prices: The OnePlus 9 Pro (12GB+256GB) starts at Rs 64,999 and OnePlus 9 (8GB+128GB) will cost Rs 49,999. The OnePlus 9R (8GB+128GB) will be available in India for Rs 39,999. It will also come in the 12GB+256 GB variant for Rs 43,999.

  9. The OnePlus Watch comes with a round design in 2 colour variants: Moonlight silver and Midnight black. The 46 mm case is crafted from stainless steel, with 2.5D curved glass on the face and a radiant glossy CD pattern on the display bezel. Users get Smart connectivity, 110+ workout types, Hands-free use for calls, 20 minutes Warp Charge for a week's power among other features.
  10. In OnePlus Watch, users are promised 2 weeks of use between charges. It will be available at a special launch price of Rs 14,999 in April. Besides that, the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 will go on sale in India from April 1 and April 15, respectively.
