iPhone SE 4 May Come With USB-C Charging, Face ID And More

The tipster, in a tweet, has reiterated that the design of the iPhone SE 4 would largely be based on last year's iPhone 14‌.

Amid rumours of the next iPhone SE being delayed, a tipster has leaked pertinent details about the upcoming iPhone SE or iPhone SE 4 that say the device would launch with an Action Button which we are likely to see in the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro. According to the leakster known as "Unknownz21", other key features of the iPhone SE 4 include a Face ID and USB-C charging which is also likely to arrive with the iPhone 15 series.

The tipster has described the fourth-generation ‌iPhone SE‌ as "effectively an iPhone 14 derivative," echoing previous predictions by famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, says a report by MacRumors. The tipster, in a tweet, has reiterated that the design of the iPhone SE 4 would largely be based on last year's iPhone 14‌. Previous rumours suggested that the next-gen iPhone SE‌ could retain a Touch ID button, but this tipster has claimed that the device would feature Face ID.

Previously leaked rumours have established that the iPhone SE 4 would feature a relatively bigger 6.1-inch OLED screen. The model would also reuse the iPhone 14 chassis and the notch would also stay. This is why Apple would have to do away with the Touch ID button altogether and opt for Face ID instead. The most significant upgrade would be Apple ditching the lightning charging for the USB Type-C port.

Meanwhile, the tech giant is expected to launch its iPhone 15 series this September, provided there are no production delays. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Apple 15 Pro will come with big camera upgrades, ultra-thin bezels and USB-C instead of lightning charging. Apple is likely redesigning the iPhones internally so they are more repairable like last year's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. This could mean that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models come with rear glass.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models were earlier said to be delayed due to a "severe crunch" in the wake of display production woes. However, a report last month claimed that the panels for the iPhone 15 Pro models are no longer in shortage.

South Korean major LG Display resolved the display woes which indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro line would not get delayed this year. Apple is likely to launch the iPhone 15 series this fall, continuing with its tradition of refreshing its iPhone lineup at that time of the year. However, a previous report in The Information, citing two sources having direct knowledge of the problem said that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models could face severe supply shortages in September.
