iPhone 15 Pro Max Shipments May Be Postponed To October Due To This Reason

An analyst has predicted that Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max shipments would be delayed as camera supplier Sony would not be able to provide the image sensor that this year's Pro Max model would feature.

In line with previous speculations of delay in iPhone 15 Pro models, an analyst has predicted that Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max shipments would be delayed as camera supplier Sony would not be able to provide the image sensor that this year's Pro Max model would come with. The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max is said to get the biggest upgrade in terms of camera and it may be equipped with a periscope lens. The camera supplier is said to miss the deadline for image sensor readiness, a 9to5Mac report said, quoting an equity analyst.

The issue is said to delay iPhone 15 Pro Max deliveries by four weeks, the report added.

This comes amid analyst Jeff Pu's previously underlined reasons that may lead to the Cupertino-based tech giant cutting production of the new models. The Apple iPhone 15 series may get the biggest camera upgrade with the iPhone 15 Pro Max but the smaller iPhone 15 Pro is not getting this upgrade, say reports. The non-pro iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may come with only ultra-wide and wide cameras and no telephoto sensor.

The model spotted on the BIS database is said to be from the iPhone 15 lineup that is slated to be launched next month.

Apple which may cut production of the iPhone 15 line is said to manufacture 77 million iPhone 15 models by the end of 2023 against previous estimates of around 83 million units, in a note sent to investors, analyst Pu previously said. The analyst also underlined two reasons and added that supply chain issues would have an impact on the mass production of the iPhone 15. The second reason is, Apple anticipates lower demand for the iPhone 15 line as they would push the price bracket higher than last year's iPhone 14 series.
