OnePlus 12 May Launch With Massive 24GB Of RAM, Latest Leak Suggests

The OnePlus 12 could also pack in a much bigger 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

OnePlus 12 may become the first smartphone to come with a massive 24GB of RAM, suggests a new leak. The smartphone is likely to be officially unveiled at the end of the year with upgraded cameras and Hasselblad branding. Previous leaks have already indicated a likely bigger battery and return of wireless charging. The latest leak by famed Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station says that the OnePlus 12 would come with 24GB of RAM, as compared to the 12GB of RAM in the OnePlus 11. The increased RAM may significantly improve multitasking capabilities on the device. The tipster leaked the information via a Weibo post.

The OnePlus 12 is likely to feature a Sony IMX9xx-series sensor for the primary camera, coupled with a 50MP ultrawide and a 64MP telephoto sensor. The OnePlus 12 could also pack in a much bigger 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Unlike Apple and Samsung, OnePlus is said to ship the phone with a charging brick in the box.

Key specs and details of the handset have also been leaked by publication SmartPrix, in collaboration with famed tipster OnLeaks, and according to that, the OnePlus 12 would come with an AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. A periscope camera and a glossy back have been hinted at a number of times by tipsters. The camera setup on the OnePlus 12 is likely to have a slight boost over the OnePlus 11.

OnePlus 12 Release Date, Specs (Expected)

The OnePlus 12 is likely to be officially launched in December this year or early 2024. Specifications and key details of the handset were tipped earlier and according to them, the OnePlus 12 would come with an AMOLED display. Among other upgrades are a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 64MP telephoto camera, which are significant upgrades over the OnePlus 11 5G. Previously leaked renders showed OnePlus 12 in black colour with a glossy back, which was not there in OnePlus 11.

The company will most likely release more colour options at the time of launch, which is still not clear. In terms of design language, there won't be much difference from this year's OnePlus 11. It would likely have the same huge circular camera module at the back, but the camera would get a significant upgrade in the form of a periscope camera on the OnePlus 12. The LED flash seems to have moved to the top-left corner of the camera. The front side may have a bezel-less screen with a selfie camera moved from the corner to the centre of the screen. The alert slider and power button are placed on the right side and the volume keys are on the left.
