New Delhi: Social Media giant Facebook is planning to change its name and rebrand the company, a recent report by The Verge stated as the organisation focuses on building the metaverse.
According to The Verge report, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is expected to talk about the company's new name at Facebook's annual Connect conference on October 28, 2021, could announce it sooner thus reflecting his ambition to be recognized for more than his contribution to social media and others.
For the most part, Gen-Z'ers & Millenials do not use the social networking site Facebook itself still use the apps Facebook bought i.e. Instagram & WhatsApp. Facebook is also involved in several lawsuits and there have been speculations that the Capitol attack was a result of Facebook's unfiltered targetted content which got many of the attackers hooked to the website. A whistleblower said that this was so that Facebook could sell more ads and make more profit despite knowing what the algorithm was doing.
