Around 6.20 am, Swathi's father dropped her off at the Nungambakkam train station on the fateful day. A man approached her at the station as she was waiting for a train to her office. The man began to argue with Swathi while donning a green shirt and black trousers.
When the argument intensified, the man pulled out a sickle and slashes Swathi multiple times below her jaw. She fell to the ground and started to bleed profusely.
