Chennai: Two Tamils settled at Moreh in Tengnoupal district of Manipur were shot dead by a bike-borne duo at Tamu in Myanmar on Tuesday. After the killing, tension ran in Moreh and several shops downed their shutters to condemn the shooting.

According to a report on The New Indian Express, the two men were allegedly shot dead by Pya Shaw Htee, a militia set up by Myanmarese junta, at Tamu, nearly 4 km from India-Myanmar border in Moreh.

The deceased were identified as autorickshaw driver P Mohan, son of Perumal and trader M Ayyanar, son of Muruga. P Mohan also reportedly got married only on June 9, 2022.
