Tamil Nadu: Woman Kills Self Over Lack Of Toilet At Her Husband's House
Ramya was an MSc graduate who was working at a private medical firm in Cuddalore district.
Chennai: A 27-year-old woman killed herself allegedly over a lack of toilet at her husband's house in Cuddalore. The woman took the extreme step within a month of marriage since the couple got married only on April 6.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, Ramya, an MSc graduate from Arisiperiyankuppam in Cuddalore district, was working at a private medical firm.
The couple had been in a relationship for over two years and they got married with the wishes of their parents on April 6.
Ramya who was living with her mother moved to her husband's home after the wedding. Upon reaching, she realised that her husband's house does not have a toilet.

She urged her husband to find a house with toilet in Cuddalore. However, the incident triggered arguments between the couple.
In this backdrop, Ramya recently moved back with her mother. Yet, on Monday, Ramya spoke to Karthikeyan again about moving to a new home and the couple entered into an altercation. Upset by the fight, Ramya reportedly attempted to kill herself. When Ramya's mother entered her room, she was shocked to find her daughter unconscious and immediately rushed her to Cuddalore Government Hospital.

The doctors then referred her to Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry. However, Ramya died without responding to treatment.
Following this, Ramya's mother Manjula gave a complaint with Thirupathirupuliyur police. Based on the complaint, the police filed a complaint and started the investigation.
