The doctors at the dispensary made observations on the injury and found that a part of the intestine was damaged. Hence, a team of veterinarians decided to perform an intestinal perforation by sedating the animal.

The doctors also took a scan, sedated the animal, and started the surgery to remove the damaged parts of the intestine. They then performed enterectomy and anastomosis, where fluids were flushed into the intestine to ease the normal functions and aid recovery.

After keeping in observation for a few days, the monkey will be sent to Guindy National park.

Meanwhile, even last month, a man tried to save an injured monkey bitten by stray dogs by giving an emergency CPR. The man performed the CPR and gave oxygen with his breath. The monkey which almost lost the pulse, regained consciousness. After the incident, the video of the man giving the CPR went viral on social media.

However, the monkey died a day later without responding to treatment in Perambalur.
