Tamil Nadu Assembly Session 2022: AIADMK & VCK Stages Walkout

The AIADMK staged a walkout due to the alleged lack of law and order scenario while VCK staged a walkout against Governor’s inaction over NEET Bill.

Chennai: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi staged a walkout during Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi’s address in Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday. The AIADMK staged a walkout due to the alleged lack of law and order scenario while VCK staged a walkout against Governor’s inaction over NEET Bill.

On Wednesday, the AIADMK government walked out from the first Assembly session of the year due to the alleged lack of law and order situation. The Opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami talking to the reporters said, “There is no law and order in the state and it has completely gone out of control in the past five months. There is no safety for women in this DMK government. This shows CM did not concentrate on maintaining the law and order scenario.”

“Also, several kilograms of banned drugs including ganja and gutka are being seized by officials. It also shows that drugs are easily available for sale in the state and it is directly affecting youngsters, especially students. We condemn DMK government for such scenario,” he said.

On the unprecedented rains, the AIADMK co-coordinator said, “TN CM Stalin is making a false claim that AIADMK is responsible for the floods since DMK took over the government in May. For the past five months, they did not do anything to stop the flood situation.”

The AIADMK also cited the closure of Amma mini-clinic as a reason for staging a walkout.

Meanwhile, VCK which is an ally of DMK staged a walkout since Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi is yet to forward the NEET Bill to President Ramnath Kovind for his consent.

Even earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin urged Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi to send the anti-NEET bill passed in the state for admission to medical courses to President for getting his assent.
