Tamil Nadu: 'Aghori Practitioner' Marries Disciple From West Bengal, Triggers Row

Chennai: A famous 'Aghori' practitioner from Trichy, 'Aghori' Baba Manikandan married his disciple in his home district on Monday, setting off a row among other 'Aghori Sadhus'.
Baba Manikandan, who was trained in Kashi, married his disciple Priyanka from West Bengal at a temple in Trichy.
For a long time now, Baba Manikandan and Priyanka, who was training under him, were in a relationship. On Monday, Priyanka got married to Baba, who was seen to be completely smeared in 'vibuthi', leading to a row in Trichy.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, Baba Manikandan left for Kashi at a young age where he started to reside with other 'Aghoris' to learn about their practices. He then went on to become a Shiva devotee and turned into an 'Aghori'.
Later he returned to Tamil Nadu with some of his disciples and started staying in cemeteries and crematoriums. After a few years, he moved to his hometown Ariyamangalam in Trichy and continued with the practice. He also performed rituals in crematoriums and trained people who were interested in becoming his disciple.

Some of the Trichy residents took offense at the incident and even lodged a complaint with the police.
