PM Modi Praises TN Woman Cop For Rescuing Man Trapped Under Tree In Cemetery During Rains

Further, PM said that she is a role model for the police force. 

Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the woman police inspector Rajeswari from TP Chatram Police station for carrying a man who was trapped under an uprooted tree in the rains on her shoulder from a cemetery, on Monday. The Prime Minister praised the cop during a meeting with Director Generals of Police and senior police officers at Lucknow. 

According to a report on IANS, Prime Minister Modi said, the duty of policewoman or man is not just confined only to the police station they work but it's for them to act during adverse conditions especially a calamity. 

Further, he went on to praise the attitude and the presence of mind of the woman cop Rajeswari and said that she is a role model for the police force.

In early November, the cop Rajeswari rescued a man Udhaya (25), who worked in a Cemetery in Ayanavaram, after he was trapped as a tree fell on him. The woman cop immediately after she received an SOS call from the control room, reached the spot and took Udaya on her shoulders. She then instructed the other police personnel to arrange for auto and placed the unconscious Udaya on the backseat of the auto and sent him to Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital.

Immediately after the incident, the video of the cop went viral on social media. On seeing this, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin appreciated the cop for her act and felicitated her with an appreciation certificate.

However, Udaya succumbed without responding to treatment at the GH.
