BJP Leader Murder Case: NIA Raids Four Places In Puducherry, Tamil Nadu

The National Investigation Agency raided the premises of the key accused in BJP leader Senthil Kumaran's murder case in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Wednesday. Talking to PTI, NIA Spokesperson said, the raids were carried out on the premises of key accused Shri Niti alias Nityanandam in Puducherry and Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. The raid was also conducted on an undisclosed residential property of the accused.
During the raids, the official said that digital gadgets (mobile phones), SIM cards, a dongle, a motorcycle, and incriminating documents were seized.
According to the spokesperson, the raids were a part of the agency's investigation into the full plot concocted by Nityanandam and others.
"The various gadgets and documents seized in today's raids are under examination, and the NIA probe in the case continues," the spokesperson said, as per PTI.
In March 2023, Puducherry police initially registered a murder case at Villianur police station. Later, the case was taken over by NIA.
On March 26, assailants reached the spot in motorcycles and hurled country bombs near the spot. Once the smoke engulfed the place, the attackers took out the sickles and hacked Senthil to death.
Later, seven persons allegedly involved in the murder case surrendered before Trichy court the next day.
Meanwhile, Senthil Kumar was initially with Congress but later shifted to BJP after Puducherry Home Minister Namassivayam moved to the saffron party.
Senthil Kumar is a confidant to A Namassivayam. He was also involved in various other businesses in Mangalam constituency in addition to the works of BJP. During that time, BJP workers also reached the spot and staged a protest.
