Kashi Tamil Sangamam: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Welcomes Participants From Rameswaram At Varanasi
On Saturday, PM Modi is set to inaugurate 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ aimed at rediscovering the bond between Kashi and Tamil Nadu at Varanasi.
Chennai: The Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan welcomed the people who arrived on a special train from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu for the month-long ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ to Varanasi on Friday. Around 216 people arrived on the train to attend the Sangamam.
A tweet on ANI said, “Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan welcomed the people who arrived onboard a train from Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu for the month-long ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ last night. 216 people arrived for the Sangamam.”

The Minister gave floral bouquets to welcome the delegates at Varanasi.
Later, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan talking to reporters said, “Tamil Nadu and Kashi have age-old relations, there is no village in Tamil Nadu where Shiv is not worshipped. This is Tamil Kartik month when all worshippers visit Shiv temples. Tamil Kashi Sangam Yatra has been organised to rejuvenate the relation.”
One of the participants said, "Rameswaram & Kashi are very interlinked. People can exchange their culture & knowledge.We're here to learn about that old culture."
"Amazing experience. Very excited. We thank IIT Madras, IIT BHU & Modi Govt for arranging everything," said another participant.

On Saturday, PM Modi is set to inaugrate 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ in Varanasi. The event is aimed at rediscovering the bond between Kashi and Tamil Nadu.
Overall, during the Kashi Tamil Sangamam to be held for a month over 2,500 delegates from Tamil Nadu are expected to participate in the program.
The event is jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
