IMD Predicts Rainfall In TN & Puducherry Till November 9

Chennai: The Cyclonic air circulation over Southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to form a low-pressure by November 9, said the latest bulletin from India Meteorological Department on Saturday. Hence, mild to moderate rains are expected for the next five days.
According to a bulletin by India Meteorological Department, "A cyclonic circulation lay over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining the equatorial Indian Ocean extending up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level at 8.30 am on Saturday."
"Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around November 9. It is likely to become more marked and move West-northwestwards towards North Tamil Nadu coast during the subsequent 48 hours," it said.

Based on the cyclone formation, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) on Saturday said, mild to moderate rainfall is likely to be experienced in most parts of North and South Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. The RMD also said that moderate rains will likely be experienced for the next five days in places including Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Pudukottai. Places including Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchy, Ariyalur, Perumbalur, Karur, Coimbatore and surrounding area are likely to experience heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms.
For Chennai, the RMC said, the sky will remain clouded for the next 24 hours and mild showers will likely be experienced. In the next 48 hours, the sky will remain clouded with moderate rains in parts of the city.
