Hindi Diwas: BJP Should Not Try To Change India Into 'Hindia', Says Tamil CM Stalin
The response of Stalin come after Union Minister Amit Shah said that Hindi has only complemented and strengthened other regional languages and has never competed against them.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday said that BJP should not try to "turn India into Hindia". He said that India should celebrate all Indian Languages instead of just Hindi.
According to a report on NDTV, Stalin said that the union government should bridge the difference in the resources spent for developing Hindi and other languages.
Taking to Twitter, he said, “Apart from imposing Hindi as a language, the BJP government has been imposing the false notion that only Hindi can unite the people of India.”
“If anything, the preferential treatment towards Hindi creates unwanted disgruntlement among the people of various states & divides them,” he said.

Further, Stalin said: I take strong exception to the statement made by Hon. Union Home Minister @AmitShah & urge him to take concrete steps for the development of all languages in the 8th Schedule to the Constitution. It's high time to make all our languages as Official Languages, on par with Hindi.
Apart from imposing Hindi as a language, the BJP government has been imposing the false notion that only Hindi can unite the people of India.
