Ford Sets Deadline As June 14 To Chennai Employees To Resume Production Amid Days Of Protests

Ford also threatened that it would take legal action against those who do not opt for severance package.

Chennai: Ford India instructed its employees in Chennai plant to resume production before June 14 after accepting the severance package. The company also threatened that it would take legal action against those who do not opt for severance package.

The employees of the Chennai plant started to stage a protest on May 30 demanding better severance pay. The employees started the protests as the company was still having limited export production left to finish in Chennai.

According to a report on The Hindu, the company has put up on its notice boards in Chennai calling permanent employees of the firm to resume production from June 14.
