Tamil Nadu: Teenager Tries To Flee Nepal With Rs 33 Lakh As Parents Chide Him For Playing Online Games

Chennai: A Class 11 boy fled his home in Washermanpet with Rs 33 lakh in cash and 213 sovereigns of gold after his parents chided him for playing online games on Thursday. However, the police rescued the teenager who was mulling to flee to Nepal from Tambaram.
According to a report on Times of India, the Class 11 boy is the son of a metro water contractor in Washermanpet and his wife is a professor of a private college nearby. The student has always been reportedly playing online games for several hours every day in his home. After a few days, the parents realised that he was addicted since he was playing games even during the online classes.

Following this, his mother scolded him on Wednesday and restricted him from using his mobile phone. In the incident, the teenager got dejected and left his home on Wednesday and did not return. The parents also found cash and gold ornaments missing from their locker. They soon rushed and started inquiring about him.
The parents immediately gave a complaint to Washermenpet deputy commissioner of police Shiva Prasad, who formed a special team to trace the child using his phone number. Later, the police traced him near Tambaram and rescued him.
However, by the time the police could rescue him, the child had pledged some of the gold ornaments and enquired about flight services to Nepal. Yet, the police reunited the boy with the family in Washermenpet.
