Chennai: BJP Leaders Paste PM Modi's Photos On Chess Olympiad 2022 Posters

Later, the image of PM Modi was included in some of the posters of the event and the advertisements published in the media.

Chennai: Ahead of Chess Olympiad 2022, BJP cadre went on to glue the image of PM Modi on the posters of the event in Chennai on Wednesday. The BJP members put up PM’s image on the posters after claiming that Tamil Nadu got the opportunity to host the tournament in Chennai because of the Central government.

Earlier, the posters put up by the Tamil Nadu government had the image of TN CM Stalin and Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram.

However, on Wednesday, BJP functionaries from Tamil Nadu including Amar Prasad Reddy, BJP TN president of sports and skill development cell, shared a video of BJP members putting up an image of PM Modi on the Chess Olympiad posters.  In the video, he also went on to say that only PM Modi is the sole representative of India.

A bitter lesson for the @arivalayam govt & a victory for TN BJP."

Earlier, 10 BJP members walked out of Chess Olympiad torch relay event in Coimbatore since the organisers of the event did not mention the name of PM Modi.

The Chess Olympiad was originally scheduled to take place in Russia between July 26 and August 8. However, it did not materialise due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

This is the second major event to be in India after World Championship match between Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen in 2013. The state government allocated Rs 92.13 crore for the event.
