On September 22, Madras High Court ordered Tamil Nadu government to provide permission for RSS march in its route at 50 locations across the state on October 2 with restrictions.

A single judge bench of Justice GJ Ilanthiraiyan said the state should grant permission on or before September 28. He also said that a detailed order on the matter will be passed soon.

The court was hearing petitions moved by RSS seeking permission to carry out the procession with their respective uniforms and a musical band in Tamil Nadu on October 2. They also sought permission to hold a public meeting.
