Yogi Adityanath Proposes Chopper Services At Wildlife Sanctuaries In UP To Promote Eco Tourism

CM Yogi addressed several topics during the UP Wildlife Board meeting, outlining guidelines aimed at preserving the state's biodiversity and enhancing the potential for eco-tourism.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath proposed to start helicopter services and the establishment of four-lane road connectivity to facilitate seamless transportation to eco-tourism destinations such as Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, and Chuka of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. He floated the proposal at the 16th meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Wildlife Board.

The Chief Minister addressed several crucial topics during the meeting, outlining guidelines aimed at preserving the state's biodiversity and enhancing the eco-tourism potential. The emphasis is on creating a tourism-friendly environment, including the training and employment of local individuals as guides at these prominent tourist locations. Furthermore, efforts will be made to ensure quality accommodation options for tourists.

Highlighting the cultural importance of animal and bird conservation, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed concern over cruelty and inhumanity towards wildlife. Strict actions will be taken against individuals found guilty of such offences. The conservation efforts that have led to an increase in the number of dolphins in the Ganga were acknowledged at the meeting. Yogi Adityanath asked officials to explore similar initiatives for other rivers like Ghaghra, Chambal, Saryu, and Gerua. Local villagers are urged to become 'dolphin friends,' contributing to the well-being of these species.

Addressing environmental challenges, the Chief Minister proposed continuing dredging in rivers to combat issues like increasing silt and floods. This initiative is expected to reduce deforestation in villages, protect forests and wildlife, and boost income.

Recognizing the critical role of veterinarians in wildlife conservation, a new cadre dedicated to the medical care of wild animals is set to be created. This move aims to provide timely promotions and additional benefits to these professionals.

Another pressing concern highlighted by Chief Minister Adityanath is the intrusion of the mobile network of Nepal's telecom companies into areas adjacent to Nepal. Urging serious attention to this issue, the Chief Minister called for necessary action to address the problem.

At the meeting, the Sohgibarwa Wildlife Division in Maharajganj district was identified as holding historical secrets. The Chief Minister proposed archaeological excavation work on the Sonari forest land in Dharamouli village. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has expressed interest in the project, sources said. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of obtaining necessary clearances from the National Wildlife Board's Standing Committee before proceeding with the archaeological excavation.
