School Open in UP: Schools in UP have reopened from today for classes 6 to 8 following all the Covid-19 protocols.

School Open in UP: After recording low cases of Covid-19, Uttar Pradesh has geared up to open schools. Schools for classes 6 to 8 have reopened in the state from today. Schools have been closed since the beginning of the first lockdown due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The classes were scheduled to begin on Monday, but due to the death of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, the day was declared as a public holiday. Thus the schools are now opening from today.

Instructions issued by District Basic Education Officers

Classes 9 to 12 are already running since August 16. The Covid-19 safety guidelines have already been issued by the state government to all district basic education officers in schools. Children will have to seek written permission from their parents to come to school. Attendance in schools is not mandatory. Schools will open from 8 AM. It has been made mandatory for all children to come to school with face masks. Schools with fewer students will run in one shift while schools with more students will operate in another shift.

Schools to operate in two shifts

Each shift will be of 3 hours. The first shift will be from 8 AM to 11 AM and the second between 11.30 AM and 2.30 AM. Classes will have only 50 per cent of accommodation at all times. Students will not share notebooks etc. with each other. When the school ends, all gates will be opened to avoid crowding at one place.
