President Ramnath Kovind Begins 4-Day UP Visit, Here's All About The Programme & Security Arrangements
President Ram Nath Kovind will also visit Gorakhpur during his 4-day visit to UP. Security arrangements are being scaled up in Gorakhpur.
New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind began his 4-day visit to Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. He will visit Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Ayodhya during his 4-day visit.
Ram Nath Kovind will stay in Gorakhpur on August 28. He will lay the foundation stone of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH Vishwavidyalaya and inaugurate Mahayogi Gorakhnath Vishwavidyalaya. Elaborate security arrangements are being made for the President's programme.

In preparation for the visit, ADG Zone Gorakhpur Akhil Kumar held a meeting with officials from other districts including Gorakhpur Basti Mandal. The meeting took place at annex building auditorium. In the meantime, important guidelines have been issued to the authorities.
On August 26, both the venues will be surveyed and security arrangements will be arranged accordingly. Hotels and other important locations have been equipped with CCTV cameras along with the venues at Pipri and Sonbarsa in Bhathat in the airport district. The security arrangements will be stringent. Because of the President's programme, 2,500 policemen, PAC, Para Military Force, 13 SPs will be deployed along with DIG.
Surveillance done in various places
For security purposes, checking of hotels, inns, dhabas have been begun. CCTV will capture every movement throughout the programme. The security plan will be effectively implemented. On August 26, all gazetted officers will inspect Pipri Bhathat, Sonbarsa and airport sites to take stock of the security arrangements. A meeting of all gazetted officers will be held again on Friday, August 27 at the Annexe Auditorium.
No one is allowed entry without a pass during the President's program. The concerned gazetted officers will guide all their subordinates. The chief secretary of the state had also sought security information through video conferencing on Tuesday. The officers reached Gorakhpur from the security headquarters today. Gorakhpur district has been put on high alert with intensified security.
