Jailed Gangster Mukhtar Ansari Admitted To Banda Medical College, Family Alleges 'Slow-Poisoning'
Jailed gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari was admitted to Banda Medical College after his health deteriorated while his family has alleged that he is being slowly poisoned.
Jailed gangster Mukhtar Ansari was admitted to Banda Medical College on Tuesday after his health deteriorated, said the jail authorities in a message to the gangster's family. The jail authorities informed Ansari's elder brother Afzal, wife Afshan, and son Umar about the gangster's health condition asking them to come immediately.
Meanwhile, Ansari's family has alleged that the gangster is being slowly poisoned in order to stop him from testifying in the Usri Chatti case, sources told ABP News. Ansari was supposed to testify against Brijesh in the Usri Chatti case pertaining to a gang war between the two in the year 2001.
"We have got a message from Mohammadabad police station in Ghazipur informing us that Mukhtar is ill and is being admitted to Medical College, Banda. Family members have been asked to come for his help," Afzal Ansari told PTI.
According to medical bulletin, Ansari was admitted at 3:55 am on Tuesday at the medica college with complain of abdominal pain.
As per the bulletin issued at 8 am, Ansari's condition was said to be stable.
All the necessary medical tests were conducted and nothing concerning was found in the result, the bulletin added.
Meanwhile, Ansari's relatives complained that they were not being allowed to meet him and asked to get permission for the same from Banda jail superintendent.
Afzal who is also an MP from Ghazipur said that he had called Chief Minister's Office before leaving for Banda but could not contact Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is in Gorakhpur, as per the PTI report.
The family has been demanding to shift Ansari to a bigger hospital and Afzal said he that the purpose of calling Adityanath was to request that his brother be admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, or any other big hospital in case adequate arrangements could not be made at Banda Medical College.
